The story begins in early November of 2017, in a study room at the Angliana apartments in Lexington, KY. There a young Alexandra and her friend, Megan, were studying for an Organic Chemistry II exam. While taking a food break, Alexandra showed Megan a Tinder profile of Patrick and asked her opinion. She swiped right and it was a match. From there, they waited to see if he would message her first. He never did. After going crazy memorizing chemical reactions all night, Alexandra sent him the message, “Steve hair.” Referring to his likeness of Steve Harrington from the Netflix show, Stranger Things.
When Patrick received the message, he was in his car, delivering Indian food. He wasn’t sure what to make of the comment about his hair, but decided to message back, knowing at least they both shared a love of Steve Harrington. Soon after, they were planning their first date.
On December 8, 2017, Patrick and Alexandra made their relationship official. In their three years together, they have moved three times and adopted a kitten brother, Arlo, for their other cat Thumbelina. Patrick introduced Alexandra to embracing her nerdy side by playing Dungeons & Dragons and the videogame, Overwatch. Alexandra has introduced Patrick to new foods, yoga, and the city of Saint Louis. Both are still young, but are excited to grow together into old age.
